My Story

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to explore this website and learn more about the services I offer.

My hope is to offer a safe place where each individual can explore their needs and learn new ways of achieving their goals. Using Trauma Informed Care and the theory of Positive Psychology, I rely on client strengths, resilience, and aspects of what's already working to develop a healthy plan of coping.  From early on, I took an interest in observing the natural world around me.  Having grown up in Europe, I realized that when people feel connected to themselves, their purpose, their community, and the natural world around them, they are more able to cope with day-to-day stressors and lead happier lives.

Health and wellness have been the cornerstones of my approach to creating a balanced life and I often like to integrate the various tools, techniques, and resources that I have learned over the years in my work with clients.

I received my undergraduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu. During my undergraduate studies, I worked with various aged children at a Child Development Center. I received my Master of Counseling from the University of Phoenix, San Diego campus. During my graduate studies, I worked full-time at a Family Counseling Center aboard Marine Corps Base Miramar. There, I served as a Victim Advocate and later as a family and couples therapist.  After moving to southern Oregon in 2006, I worked at various non-profit agencies with families, couples, and children.

Aside from traditional talk therapy, I also utilize Art Therapy, Mindfulness training, CBT, and Collaborative Problem Solving. My experience is in areas of Anxiety, Depression, Emotional Regulation, Family Conflict, Grief/Loss, Life transitions, Parenting Support, Problems in Relationships, Problems at Work, Self-Esteem, and/or Stress.
